Immigration Act South Africa – Critical Skills List 2014 /
The new critical skills list in support of the Critical Skills Visa has been published in terms of S18(5) of the Immigration Regulations. The Critical Skills Visa replaces the Quota Work Permit and the Exceptional Skills Permit. Unlike the Quota Work Visa it allows the holder 12 months in which to confirm employment in South Africa.

On 2nd June the Department of Home Affairs informed the public that it will no longer take in visa applications effective immediately.
