No More Visa Applications at Home Affairs South Africa

On June 3, 2014 / by Andrew Wicks / 6 Comments

On 2nd June the Department of Home Affairs informed the public that it will no longer take in visa applications effective immediately.

This is in response to VFS centres in Pretoria, Rustenburg and Kimberly opening on 2nd June, however, centres in Durban, Bloemfontein and George will only open on 9th June. The centre in Johannesburg will go live even later on 18th June,  Cape Town on the 20th of June and finally,  Polokwane, Nelspruit and Port Elizabeth on June 23rd.

Even though there are different dates for certain regions, Home Affairs South Africa seems to have officially passed the baton to VFS on 2ndJune.

Applications due for submission in areas outside of Pretoria, Rustenburg or Kimberly will need to wait until their respective VFS centre opens. For applicants whose current visas are due to expire need to urgently consult an immigration specialist such as Initiate Immigration to be informed about their options.

Going forward:

All visa applications will need to be submitted at VFS application centres. Initiate immigration will continue to assist all clients in this process by completing the online application, compiling the required documentation, submitting documents at 3rd parties, and subsequently booking an appointment at VFS.

Our team is fully prepared for the changes that await the immigration industry. Times are changing and companies will need to adapt in order to successfully acclimatise to the new immigration landscape.

      Dear Dennis

All applications need to be submitted at VFS. All documents need to be valid when the application is submitted, which means that your colleague would need to first renew his documents if they are to expire before the application can be submitted.

For more information please send an email to contact@inititateimmigration.com and one of our consultants will get back to you.
